UA&P I AM S.T.R.O.N.G. : Head's Up, It's Ms. Shirin!

Jewelz says,
I would like to introduce you to my favorite teacher Ms. Shirin. She was our teacher (the best teacher) in Marketing Management. This was the day we got our first taste of what it was like to be in IMC (Integrated Marketing Communications). On our first day of class, we were all scared, anxious, and excited to see what our teacher was like. All we knew was that she was a graduate of UA&P as well. It's not that she was just a graduate of UA&P which made us curious about our teacher, she graduated with HONORS in the IMC program! Whew!! That's really tough work, believe me!

One of the most memorable moments is our first QUIZ!! It was a surprise quiz too.. No one reviewed the presentations and lectures... or even took a glimpse at our notes. We thought we were all doomed! It was a quiz from numbers 1-50 on....

"Name that brand!"

She flashed us logos of different brands and we had to name them... This lesson taught us that we had to be more aware of our surroundings, especially brands since we were marketing students.

Another important lesson is the definition of marketing management. I'm sure all her students remembered "managing profitable customer relationships."

I definitely enjoyed class and always looked forward to the next meeting. We enjoyed Ms. Shrin's company inside and out of the classroom. She always helped us even after marketing management and into 4th year. Ms, thank you for all the support... We couldn't have done it without you!

Ms. Shirin was not only our teacher, she became our friend. :)

Head's Up! We will be posting an article by Ms. Shrin... Don't miss out!

I really want to get some feedback from Ms. Shrin's class this year and also from her former students! :) or tell me about your favorite teacher!

It's great to recognize the effort of Professors.Your favorite one,Ms. Shrine, is the true epitome of a good teacher.Teachers should be like that. They should make school interesting to students so that students would learn more and parents would believe that what they pay the school is worth it.

I never thought I'd live to see the day. A student actually publishing a blog post praising Shirin as a teacher? I guess the sky is falling down. Haha. Seriously, judging from the comments, it's great that she decided to start teaching sooner than she actually planned to back when we were studying. UA&P seems to be a better place because of it.

Just so that you guys can have even more fun with Shirin, here are a few things you probably didn't know (and she probably didn't want you to know) about her.

Factoid 1: She prefers being called Shirini rather than Shirin. If you notice, that's what Dr. Kliatchko calls her.

Factoid 2: She's just a wannabe techie. Despite all her gadgets, she didn't know how to install stuff into her PDA until after college.

Factoid 3: She didn't know what a dog's "thing" looked like until Ramses, her Basset Hound, mistook her leg for another dog and tried to hump it. She even wanted to bring him to the veterinarian after.

Factoid 4: She can't cook to save her life. Her signature dish is "sinigang rice", which is so sour it deadens all your tastebuds.

Factoid 5: She actually watched the entirety of Meteor Garden.

Disclaimer: There were actually a lot more factoids but I was restrained by your teacher with the threat of severe physical suffering if I didn't delete the others.

One of the (many) reasons why I love my block is that we got Ms. Shirin as our Marketing Management professor. I'm sure all of my blockmates agree with me that she is one cool teacher. She taught us so many things about anything and everything under the sun (but especially about marketing). And I like the fact that she calls us "sweetie".

To the Students of UA&P;
Many of you have special talents and some work hard studying...how does UA&P professors show their appreciation of what you do?
Is it only Ms. Shirin who finds time to inspire the students?
